Nicola Bryars-Parker - Artist Bio
Nicola Bryars-Parker is an Australian artist exploring the connection between nature, human experience, and the environment. Growing up surrounded by repurposed materials-such as draftsman’s paper from her Dad’s engineering office, turned into fabric patterns and drawing pads—Nicola developed a passion for drawing, which led her to major in printmaking.
Her work is inspired by Robyn Wall Kimmerer’s Gathering Moss, embracing reciprocity and our relationship with the earth.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of New South Wales and spent her final year at the University of Austin, Texas.
From 2003-2008, she was a member of the contemporary art group The Upholstery. Her solo show Biophilia in 2018 marked a shift to full-time art practice. Recent exhibitions include Organic Data at Northsite Contemporary Arts and Resilience at Mulgrave Gallery in Cairns, Qld
